India’s greatest ever and also among world’s greatest wrestlers of all-time, the Great Gama was born on this day – May 22, 1878. Today we mark his 142nd birth anniversary. Born as Ghulam Mohammad Baksh Butt, and bestowed with the ring name The Great Gama -- his wrestling career which lasted 50 years was unmarked by a single defeat. Gama Pehelwan held both the World and Indian Wrestling Championship title at the same time and was popularly called as Rustam-e-Hind in India.
