Tandav Cast & Crew Offers Unconditional Apology After Complaint In Uttar Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan Meets Prakash Javadekar
Cast & crew of Amazon Prime Video's 'Tandav' issued an "unconditional" apology on January 18, saying they did not intend to offend religious beliefs or sentiments. They also referred to parts of a disclaimer that is an industry standard and said 'Tandav' was a "work of fiction" and that "any resemblance to acts and persons and events is purely coincidental". The apology comes after the Information & Broadcasting Ministry sought a response from Amazon Prime. The web series, which stars Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan & others was released on January 15 & it quickly triggered outrage. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on January 18 met Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and demanded to ban the web series immediately. Chouhan is the first chief minister who has personally urged the central government for action against the controversial show.
