The Taliban have denied that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy prime minister in the new government in Afghanistan is dead. Taliban released a voice message of Baradar, former head of the Taliban political office, rejecting claims he had been killed or even injured in a clash. This comes after days of speculation that supporters of Baradar had clashed with those of Sirajuddin Haqqani. The Taliban have time and again denied the speculation over internal splits. Baradar had not been seen in public for some time. Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, the group’s supreme leader, has also not been seen in public since the Taliban took control over Kabul on August 15 this year. However, Akhundzada had issued a statement when the new government was formed recently. Watch the video to know more.
