Sourav Ganguly On Joining Politics After Meeting Amit Shah, Challenges He Would Face As BCCI Chief

Sourav Ganguly, the next BCCI chief cleared the air about his meeting with union minister Amit Shah. When asked if he would be joining the BJP, Ganguly said there was no quid pro quo in his meeting with Shah. “I met Amit Shah for the first time ever, neither did I ask a question on BCCI, whether I was going to get a post or not, nor any discussion of "you will only get this, if you agree to that" happened, there is no political development,” said Ganguly. When asked about the challenges he would be facing as the BCCI president, Ganguly said that he is happy to have got an opportunity in a tough situation. Ganguly said, “I get an opportunity when it’s a tough situation and it gives me a tremendous amount of confidence. BCCI have faith in me and in my abilities. I will work with the best I have known.”
