Shocking Animal Cruelty Caught On Camera: Mahouts Brutally Thrash Elephant At Rejuvenation Camp, Arrested

An elephant was subjected to brutality at a rejuvenation camp at Thekkampatti in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Video of the brutal incident has gone viral. Reportedly, the 19-year-old female elephant, Jayamalyatha, was thrashed after it refused to respond to commands. In the viral video, two mahouts can be seen thrashing the animal behind a tree. The elephant can be heard writhing in pain as the two mahouts refuse to spare it and continue thrashing it with sticks. The two accused mahouts, Vinil Kumar & assistant Sivaprasad were booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act after the video went viral. The accused were suspended from service and were arrested. The video has drawn sharp criticism from netizens.
