Shivraj Singh Chouhan Takes Oath As Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Says Priority To Fight COVID-19

Senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan took oath as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for the fourth time on March 23. The oath taking ceremony took place at the Raj Bhawan in Bhopal. The 61-year-old BJP leader was sworn in by Governor Lalji Tandon. This comes 15 months after Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government was voted out of power. Soon after taking oath, Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with officials to review the steps being taken to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus and the preparedness to fight the virus. Madhya Pradesh has till now registered seven positive cases. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, CM, Madhya Pradesh said, “There is only one purpose to be served at the moment. We need to stop the spread of coronavirus.” After Jyotiraditya Scindia left the Congress party to join the BJP and resignations of 22 Congress MLAs, Nath resigned as the CM last week, making way for Chouhan to take over.
