Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra has filed a defamation suit against 29 media personnel and publications in the Bombay High Court. She has accused them of "false reporting and maligning her image" in the Raj Kundra pornography case. The hearing of the case is on July 30, reported news agency ANI.
In her lawsuit, the actor has sought an unconditional apology, deletion of all defamatory content and Rs 25 crore in damages. Shilpa Shetty has cited several reports that are defamatory and false & are damaging her reputation in her suit. In her application, the actor stated that the defamatory reports have reduced her reputation in the public eye, including her fans, followers, brand endorsement companies, business associates and peers.
Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson, star of the latest Marvel movie “Black Widow,” filed a lawsuit on July 29 in Los Angeles Superior Court against Disney, alleging her contract was breached when the media giant released the film on its Disney+ streaming service at the same time as its theatrical debut.
Johansson said in the suit that her agreement with Disney’s Marvel Entertainment guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release. She said her salary was based in large part on the box-office performance of the film. A Disney spokesman told The Wall Street Journal that Johansson’s suit had no merit. Watch the video to know more.
