Sharda Sinha Dies at 72: Veteran Indian Folk Singer, Voice of Chhath Songs, Passes Away After Battling Blood Cancer; PM Narendra Modi Condoles Demise

Veteran folk singer Sharda Sinha passed away on November 5, 2024. She was 72. The legendary artist was battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, since 2018. Recently, Sinha was admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi and was on ventilator support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to express grief. Sharda Sinha was known for her iconic Chhath Geet and was called Bihar Kokila. Sinha lent her voice for Bollywood films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) & Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
