Scientists Publish Images Of Infected Respiratory Cells By Coronavirus; Researchers Show The Intensity Of COVID-19 Infections With New Pictures

Researchers at the University of North Carolina released astounding new pictures that illustrate what happens to the body’s airways when infected with coronavirus. The findings illustrate the number of virus particles that are produced and released per cell inside the lungs. The high-powered microscopic images, re-colorised were published in the New England Journal Of Medicine, to show how easily infected COVID-19 cells on the human respiratory system can spread & transmit to others. To produce the pictures, assistant professor Camille Ehre implanted the virus into human cells. In a laboratory setting, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was inoculated into human bronchial epithelial cells. These cells were then examined 96 hours after infection with the use of scanning electron microscopy, it stated. Researchers say the images make a strong case for the increased use of face masks to limit the transmission of coronavirus, after an extremely high number of virus particles were found inside the human respiratory system. Researchers hope these new images will help scientists find new and effective ways to treat COVID-19 by identifying the viral load and potential risks that can lead to death.
