Sanjay Singh Attacked With Black Ink In UP’s Hathras; ‘Coward, Not Thakur,’ The AAP Leader Slams CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a "coward, not a Thakur", AAP MP Sanjay Singh tweeted after he was attacked with ink in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. Alleged gangrape and murder of a 20-year-old Dalit woman in Hathras has raised a political storm. The incident took place after the lawmakers met the family of the victim. After the incident, Sanjay Singh tweeted, “Cowardly act in Hathras. MLA Rakhi Birla, Ajay Dutt, and Faisal Lala were with me. Yogi Ji, you are not Thakur (caste), you are a coward.” Singh also posted a purported photo of the offender with the state's ADG Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar on social media. There is no doubt now who was behind the attack, Singh said on Twitter as he posted a picture purportedly showing his alleged attacker Deepak Sharma with ADG Kumar. The Hathras police responded to the tweet, saying necessary legal action has been taken. Singh & Birla were talking to journalists outside the victim's village when the man, identified as Deepak Sharma, threw ink on them and shouted slogans. The stunned Rajya Sabha MP is seen flinching away in video.
