Sachin Tendulkar Hospitalised As Precautionary Measure After Contracting COVID-19, Mumbai Records 11,000 Cases
Sachin Tendulkar, who tested positive for Covid-19 on March 27 said that he has been hospitalised as a precautionary measure. The 47-year-old took to Twitter to announce the development. Tendulkar had tested positive for the infection on March 27 and had been in home isolation ever since. Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan legend, hoped for Tendulkar’s speedy recovery on social media. All-rounder Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to express his well wishes to the leading run-scorer in international cricket. The batting great, who was part of India’s historic World Cup win in 2011, also wished his teammates on the tenth anniversary of the victory. Besides Tendulkar, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, his elder brother Yusuf and S Badrinath, all of whom had recently participated at the Road Safety World Series Challenge, have so far announced that they have tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, Mumbai in Maharashtra reported the highest single-day spike in coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic after recording a total of 11,163 cases in the last 24 hour.
