On February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine from three sides. Ukrainian troops battled Russian invaders soon after Moscow attacked by sea, land and air. This is termed as the biggest attack on a European state since the Second World War. On February 24, the first day of the attack, Russia's Defence Ministry said it had achieved all its goals. Reportedly, 83 land-based Ukrainian targets were destroyed. As per a NDTV report, Ukraine said Russia had carried out 203 attacks since the beginning of the day. Russian forces attacked cities across Ukraine soon after President Vladimir Putin ordered a military operation. Black smoke was witnessed at several places as airports were bombed.
