RK Pachauri, Former TERI Chief Who Led UN Climate Body When It Won Nobel, Passes Away At 79 In Delhi

RK Pachauri, former TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) chief passed away on February 13. The former chairman of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was battling cardiac ailments. He was on life support in a Delhi hospital. Under his leadership, IPCC won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Pachauri became the chief executive of Teri in 1981 and headed the organisation for more than three decades. Pachauri had to quit his post in 2015 amid allegations of sexual harassment.
