Just a day after the sad news of actor Irrfan Khan’s death, the world was shocked again with the news of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passing away in Mumbai aged 67 on April 30. He was admitted at HN Reliance Hospital on April 29 after he complained of breathing problems. The sad news was confirmed by his family. “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukaemia,” read the statement. When news of Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalisation started doing the rounds on April 29, his brother Randhir Kapoor confirmed that the actor was hospitalised. Rishi Kapoor was battling with cancer for the past two years. It was on September 29, 2018, when Rishi Kapoor announced that he will be flying to America to seek ‘some medical treatment’. Rishi Kapoor returned to India after spending 11 months and 11 days in the US. Rishi Kapoor began his career with roles in his father Raj Kapoor's films. As a child, he made an appearance in the Shree 420 song Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua. He played a young version of his father in 1970 film Mera Naam Joker. He won the National award for best child artist for his wonderful performance. Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani shared a picture with her father and wrote a heartfelt note. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and many others condoled his death. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter to share his condolences. As the world bid goodbye to two gems of Indian cinema, Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, a picture of the two from their 2013 film D-Day has gone viral.
