On June 6, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stated that there would be no change in existing currency and banknotes. RBI’s response came after few media reports stated that photos of Rabindranath Tagore & APJ Abdul Kalam were under consideration on a new series of banknotes of some denominations, reported NDTV.
