Ram Swaroop Sharma, BJP MP From Himachal, Found Dead At Delhi Home, PM Narendra Modi Extends Condolences

BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma died by suicide at his residence in Delhi’s North Avenue, Delhi Police said on March 17. Sharma, 62, was found hanging in his room, Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said. He was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, the police said, adding that no suicide note was found from the spot. Police officials said that Sharma's personal assistant alerted the police control room around 7.45 am after the parliamentarian did not respond to knocks on his door. A police team was rushed to his residence immediately and forced open the door and found Sharma hanging. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to say that he was pained by Sharma's untimely and unfortunate demise.
