Rajya Sabha Witnesses Chaotic Scenes As Opposition MPs Protest Lack Of Debate On Farm Law, Pegasus

August 10, one more day in Rajya Sabha was marked by protests and adjournments. Opposition members, especially the Congress party protested in the House. They protested the conversion of a calling attention motion into a short-duration discussion on the issue of new farm laws. Opposition members took turns and stood on the table meant for the secretarial staff & protested. Others shouted slogans against the Modi-led government during the discussion on “agricultural problems and solutions”. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh strongly protested in the House. Even though the discussion began, however due to the chaos, the House was adjourned for the day amid sloganeering at 4 pm.
