Rahul Gandhi Questions Twitter's Actions, Calls It 'Interfering With Democratic Process Of India'

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on August 13 hit back at Twitter for locking his account . Gandhi accused the micro-blogging site of "interfering in our political process.” He said the social media platform was attacking the democratic structure of the country. Rahul Gandhi released his video on YouTube titled "Twitter's Dangerous Game.” Gandhi said, "This is not an attack on Rahul Gandhi, this is not simply shutting Rahul Gandhi down. I have 19-20 million followers; you are denying them the right to an opinion.” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted, “Why hadn’t it locked the account of SC commission that had tweeted similar photos before any of our leaders did?” Twitter handles of Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders have been locked. Twitter said the accounts have been locked for posting pictures of the family of the nine-year-old Dalit rape & murder victim in Delhi. A ‘locked’ Twitter account means the user cannot tweet, retweet or like any posts. A user can only send ‘Direct Messages’ to followers when his/her account is locked.
