Pranab Mukherjee, Former President Of India Dies Aged 84 In New Delhi
Pranab Mukherjeee, the 13th President of India has died aged 84. Mukherjee breathed his last at Army Research and Referral Hospital, New Delhi where he was recovering from a brain surgery. The octogenarian had also contracted COVID-19 during his treatment for a blood clot in his brain. Post an emergency surgery on August 10, Mukherjee had been on ventilator support. His health continued to deteriorate and a health bulletin on August 31 described his condition as deteriorating. Mukherjee contracted a lung infection after which his body went into a septic shock which generally causes multi-organ failure. His death was announced shortly thereafter.
