In a country where agriculture and farmers hold utmost importance, there is a festival to celebrate the work of farm animals. Pola is a bull-respecting festival mainly celebrated in Maharashtra. In Telangana, this festival is known as Polala Amavasya. On this day, farmers decorate and respect their bulls. Pola falls on the new moon day (Pithori Amavasya) in the month of Shravan.
