PM Narendra Modi Calls For ‘Janata Curfew’, Urges People Not To Hoard Essentials & Other Highlights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the coronavirus pandemic across the world and the stringent steps taken to curb its spread. Till March 19, coronavirus cases in India jumped to 173 after 18 new cases were reported. The deadly COVID-19 has claimed over 9000 lives globally and infected more than two lakh people. PM Modi urged people not to stock up essential commodities as there will be no scarcity. He urged senior citizens to stay at home. He urged the people of the country to follow ‘Janata Curfew’ on March 22. He requested people to stay at home from 7 am till 9 pm on Sunday. Prime Minister Modi also urged the citizens to thank all those who are working in essential services in the time of coronavirus. He urged people to avoid visiting the hospitals for routine health check-ups and postpone elective surgeries.
