On September 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Global Covid-19 summit organised by the United States, said that the world needs to concentrate on addressing the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Though PM Modi did not mention the names of any countries, he spoke about the need for mutual recognition of vaccine certificates. The prime minister’s statement comes amid a row over United Kingdom’s revised travel guidelines for fully vaccinated Indians. He also mentioned that the world stood with India, like a family, during the second wave of Covid-19.
