PM Modi Meets Chief Ministers, Covid-19 Numbers - Delhi Logs Highest One Day Rise, Mumbai At 13K
On January 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with chief ministers. The meet was organised as cases of Covid-19 have been rising in the country. PM Modi urged all states to ensure adequate health infrastructure at the district level. Meanwhile, India recorded 2.64 lakh new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, 6.7 per cent jump. This is the highest number in 239 days. 315 people lost their lives, taking the total fatalities to 485,350. As per the Health Ministry, India has reported 5,753 cases of the Omicron variant. Maharashtra recorded 46,406 new cases. Delhi recorded the highest-ever daily rise in cases. 28,867 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded in Delhi. Meanwhile, Mumbai recorded 13,702 new cases.
