PM Modi Chairs High-Level Meeting On Covid-19 Amid Rising Cases In China, Urges People To Wear Masks

On December 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting on Covid-19 amid the surge in cases in China. PM Modi said Covid-19 is not over yet and advised people to wear masks as the festive season is on, but did not make their usage mandatory. PM Modi said the focus should be on genome sequencing. He also said that Covid-19 testing should increase. Four cases of the virus variant creating trouble in China have been detected in India. The government asked people not to panic.
