Vinesh Phogat created history after reaching the finals at the Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh Phogat entered the finals of 50 kg Women’s Wrestling Freestyle. Vinesh Phogat defeated Yusneylis Guzman Lopez (Cuba) 5-0 to enter the finals. With this win, Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to enter wrestling final at the Olympics. She will play USA's Sarah Ann Hildebrandt in the Olympics 2024 women's wrestling 50 kg final on August 7. Union Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated Vinesh Phogat and said, “This is phenomenal.” Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi said, “Today, along with Vinesh, the entire country is emotional after defeating three top wrestlers of the world in a single day.” Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also congratulated Vinesh Phogat.
