Paris Olympics 2024: Kangana Ranaut Takes a Dig at Wrestler Vinesh Phogat After Her Historic Win, Credits PM Modi for Her Victory

On August 6, Vinesh Phogat scripted history as she became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Phogat triumphed over Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in a thrilling semi-final match. Vinesh will now fight for the gold medal against USA's Sarah Hildebrandt in the final on August 7. For the unversed, Phogat was a leading figure in the protests against former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut commented on Phogat's achievement, attributing her success to the strength of India's democracy. Ranaut posted a photo of Vinesh on her Instagram stories and credited her victory to the 'great leader' Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
