Param Bir Singh, Former Mumbai Top Cop Declared Offender In Extortion Case Rules Court

On November 17, Param Bir Singhformer Mumbai police commissioner was declared proclaimed offender by a magistrate court in Mumbai. This concerns an extortion case filed against Param Bir Singh by the Mumbai police. Two others, Vinay Singh and Riyaz Bhati, have also been declared as proclaimed offenders by additional chief metropolitan magistrate S B Bhajipale. The crime branch of Mumbai Police, which is probing the extortion case, had sought the proclamation against Singh. Police had told the court that the IPS officer could not be traced even after the issuance of non-bailable warrant (NBW). Param Bir Singh was removed from his position as the Mumbai Police Commissioner in March. The Maharashtra government had told the court in October that Singh could not be traced. This came after reports of Singh leaving the country started doing the rounds. Watch the video to know more.
