Pakistan Stock Exchange Terror Attack In Karachi: Balochistan Liberation Army Claims Responsibility
All four terrorists, who attacked Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi on the morning of June 29 were shot dead, the police informed. Two security guards and a police officer were killed in the attack and seven people including three officials have been injured, the police said in a statement cited by Dawn. City's police force had earlier said six people died in the firefight but later revised the figure, according to news agency AFP. A Karachi hospital where the bodies were taken confirmed the updated death count to AFP. The terrorists came out of their vehicle a little before 10 am and launched the attack at the compound entrance and tried to barge into it. Police and Rangers officials arrived at the scene soon after the attack and killed four terrorists, Sindh Rangers said. Militants launched a grenade attack at the main gate of the building and stormed the building after firing indiscriminately. As per ANI, the Baloch Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Karachi Stock Exchange has been located at the Stock Exchange Building on I. I. Chundrigar Road since 1947. Hours after gunmen attacked the Pakistani stock exchange in Karachi, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi alleged that the clues of the strike are leading towards sleeper cells activated by India. In a strongly-worded reply, MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said unlike Pakistan, India has no hesitation in condemning terrorism anywhere in the world, including in Karachi.
