Oscars 2025: India’s Official Entry ‘Laapataa Ladies’ out of Race; UK’s Hindi-Language Film ‘Santosh’ on Shortlist

India's hopes for an Oscar nomination have been dashed as Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan's 'Laapataa Ladies', the country's official entry for the Best International Feature Film category, has been eliminated from the shortlist. British-Indian filmmaker Sandhya Suri's 'Santosh', starring Indian actors Shahana Goswami and Sunita Rajwar, has made it to the shortlist representing the UK. The final Oscar nominations will be announced on January 17, 2025. Watch video.
