Nirmala Sitharaman Says Fuel Price Hike Caused By Ukraine-Russia War

On March 29, Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister of India said that the war in Ukraine by Russia had affected all countries. The Finance Minister defended the 137-day break in fuel price revision. Sitharaman said the disruption in supply chains and the resultant rise in global oil prices due to the war was a couple of weeks' phenomenon, reported The Economic Times. On March 30, petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise a litre each, taking the total increase in rates in the last nine days to Rs 5.60 per litre. As per a PTI report, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices per litre reached Rs 115.88 & Rs 100.10 respectively after prices were hiked by 84 paise and 85 paise. Watch the video to know more.
