Nirmala Sitharaman Announces Extension Of Income Tax Filing Dates Amid Coronavirus Lockdown
As India lived through a second-day of lockdown, the Central government made a slew of announcements to aid taxpayers and businesses. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the last date for filing of income tax return for the financial year 2018-19 had been extended to June 30. She also announced June 30, 2020 as the new date for mandatory linking of Aadhaar with a taxpayer’s Permanent Account Number (PAN). Here are the highlights of the Finance Minister’s announcement.
