Nirmala Sitharaman Announces 8 Covid-19 Relief Schemes: Expanded ECLGS, Tourist Visa, Atmanirbhar Jobs Among Finance Minister’s New Stimulus Measures
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced 8 new schemes to boost the economy, with a special focus on health and tourism. The major announcements by the finance minister include a Rs 1.1 lakh crore loan guarantee scheme for the Covid-19 affected and an additional Rs 1.5 lakh crore under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) that was launched as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat package last year. She has also promised support to the battered tourism sector in the form of a Rs 10 lakh loan to travel agencies and Rs 1 lakh loan to tourist guides. Free tourist visa to 5 lakh tourists. Extension of Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). The scheme was launched initially for the period from April to June 2020. 5 kg food grains to be provided till November 2021. Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana, launched last year, extended till March 31, 2022. Additional Rs 14,775 crore nutrient-based subsidy to be provided to farmers. Watch the video to know more.
