Navratri, the nine-day festival begins from October 7 and it ends on October 15. The festival revolves around the nine avatars of Goddess Durga or Goddess Shakti. First day of the nine-day Hindu festival is dedicated to Goddess Shailputri. The meaning of her name is Shail (mountain) & Putri (daughter) means daughter of the mountains.
