Names Of 20 Indian Soldiers Killed In Clashes With China; President Ram Nath Kovind Pays Condolences
The Indian Army released names of the 20 soldiers martyred in the violent face-off with the Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. Indian & Chinese troops got into violent clashes on June 15-16. The Army earlier said that an officer and two soldiers were killed in the clash. However, later the numbers rose to 20. Four Indian Army personnel who were critically injured during the violent face-off are stable now, as per ANI. Reportedly, major general level talks are being held between India and China to further defuse the situation. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi for the first time. President Ram Nath Kovind on June 17 said he bowed to the exemplary courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers to protect the country's sovereignty and integrity. PM Narendra Modi said the sacrifice of the Indian soldiers killed will not go in vain. Wreath laying ceremony of the Indian soldiers killed was performed at Army Hospital in Leh.
