Nagpur Begging Ban: Police Issues Order Prohibiting Begging At Traffic Junctions, Footpaths

On March 8, Nagpur police chief Amitesh Kumar issued an order prohibiting individuals or groups from indulging in begging. The order states that beggars will be prohibited from gathering at traffic junctions, footpaths, traffic islands & dividers in the city. This order comes amid rising complaints of harassment by motorists and pedestrians, reported PTI. The order was issued under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) which bans the gathering of four or more people in a particular area. Watch the video to know more.
