Mumbai Rains: Heavy Rainfall Causes Waterlogging in Several Areas; BMC Declares School Holiday, Local Train Services Disrupted, Waterlogging at Several Places

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai and many parts of the suburbs early on Monday, July 8. Water-logging and traffic congestion was reported from many places. Mumbai recorded over 300 mm of rain at various places in six hours from 1 am to 7 am. Places like Andheri, Kurla, Bhandup, King's Circle, and Dadar, among other locations, reported heavy rains. The civic body said that the decision for the next session will be announced after reviewing the situation. BMC mentioned that India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall. Mumbai local train services were also disrupted as water got accumulated on the railway tracks.
