On May 23, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said there was no evidence yet to support that the monkeypox virus had mutated. Maria Van Kerkhove, WHO's emerging diseases lead, said the outbreaks in non-endemic countries can be contained, reported Hindustan Times. Maria Van Kerkhove said that over 100 cases in the recent outbreak in Europe and North America had not yet been severe, reported Hindustan Times. Over 100 cases were reported from some European nations, besides the United States, Canada and Australia.
