Milind Deora Quits Congress, Ends Family’s 55-Year Relationship With Party; Joins Eknath Shinde-Led Shiv Sena
On January 14, Congress leader Milind Deora resigned from the party. Deora has joined the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In a post on X, Deora said, “I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of Congress, ending my family's 55-year relationship with the party.” He added, “I am grateful to all leaders, colleagues & karyakartas for their unwavering support over the years.” Deora told reporters that he quit Congress to walk on the path of development. He also issued a statement explaining the reason behind ending his family's five-decade association with the Congress. Deora officially joined the Shiv Sena in a ceremony attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Deora also paid tributes to Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. Watch the video to know more.
