Despite having the highest death toll in the world due to the coronavirus outbreak, Americans chose to go outside and enjoy the warmer weather on Memorial Day 2020. Beaches, parks and other public places saw big crowds. The U.S. is one of the few countries where a nation-wide lockdown was not announced despite the COVID-19 pandemic and governors of various states imposed movement restrictions depending on the number of cases. But many Americans have protested these measures calling it a violation of their fundamental rights. States like Georgia in the U.S. have chosen to open up in the month of May.
