Massive Traffic Jam In Solan As Himachal Lifts Restrictions, Long Queues Of Cars & SUVs Seen
Several cars were seen on the road leading to Himachal Pradesh, causing massive congestion & bringing traffic to a halt on June 13. This comes after Himachal Pradesh announced that Covid-19 RT-PCR negative tests are not required to enter the state. Long queues of cars were seen on June 13 near Parwanoo in Solan district, the entry point to Himachal Pradesh.
In the last 36 hours, around 5,000 vehicles entered the capital city Shimla through the Shoghi barrier, reported NDTV. The city continues to see a rise in tourist arrivals. Shimla police asked tourists to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour, wear masks & social-distancing rules. They said strict action will be taken if the Covid-19 guidelines are not followed. As cases began to fall in the state & across the country, the Himachal government on June 11 announced relaxations in curfew, including allowing tourists to visit without a negative Covid-19 test.
