Mars Made Its Closest Approach To Earth On October 6, Watch For It On October 13 As It Becomes Brighter Than Sirius, The Brightest Star In The Night Sky

Videos Team Latestly|

Mars will be extra visible throughout the month of October as our neighbouring planet comes unusually close to Earth, and we won’t see this type of glow again for a while. As per NASA, the red planet is visible all night right now, rising from the east, and reaches its highest point in the sky around midnight. On October 6, Mars made its closest approach to Earth at 10:18 am ET at 38,586,816 miles away. It will not come this close again until the year 2035, experts say. This period of excellent viewing also coincides with Mars’ opposition on October 13, when Mars is directly on the opposite side of Earth from the sun, which happens about every two years.
