Manmohan Singh, Former PM Admitted To AIIMS After Testing Positive For Coronavirus; Condition Is Stable Says Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan
Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's condition remains stable a day after he was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with fever. The 88-year-old is being given the best possible medical care, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said on April 20. The veteran Congress leader was admitted at around 5 pm on April 19 and administered a Covid-19 test. Dr Singh has received his two vaccine doses (of Covaxin) - the first on March 4 and the second on April 3. Reportedly, he was hospitalised as “a matter of precaution". Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “His condition is stable”. Minutes after news of his admission broke, 'get well' messages began pouring in. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Wishing our former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh Ji good health and a speedy recovery."
