Manish Sisodia Tests Positive For COVID-19; Arvind Kejriwal Says Delhi Conducting Maximum Tests Per Day Per Million On Earth
Manish Sisodia, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister tested positive for coronavirus on September 14. The leader confirmed his infection in a tweet and said he was in self-isolation to prevent transmission of the illness. Sisodia, the most prominent minister in Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's cabinet, had been actively involved in Delhi's fight against the pandemic. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on September 14 said that maximum COVID-19 tests per day per million population are being conducted in the national capital when compared to the rest of the world. CM Kejriwal said that 21 lakh people in Delhi have been tested for COVID-19 so far, equals to 11 per cent of the total population of the city. Delhi has been witnessing a sudden surge in daily cases in the last few days. On September 14, the national capital logged 3,229 new cases in a day after reporting over 4,000 cases daily for five days. Delhi’s total count has reached at 2,21,533 cases out of which over 28,600 are active.
