Mahinda Rajapaksa Resigns As Sri Lanka's Prime Minister, Protesters Allegedly Set Fire To His Ancestral Home In Hambantota

On May 9, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned amid nationwide protests. Many people in the crisis hit nation were happy with the development. This move is expected to make way for a new cabinet in the crisis hit country, reported ANI. Now, President Rajapaksa is expected to invite all the political parties in Parliament to form an all-party Cabinet, reported ANI. Massive protests were reported from Sri Lanka on May 9 since the economic crisis hit the country.
