Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray Resigns As Chief Minister After SC Refuses to Stay Trust Vote
The political crisis in Maharashtra has resulted in Uddhav Thackeray resigning as the chief minister after the Supreme Court refused to halt the trust vote called by the governor. The BJP led by Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra asked for a trust vote after 38 Shiv Sena MLAs rebelled against Thackeray to join the Eknath Shinde camp. The floor test is scheduled for June 30.
