Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Karnataka, Mizoram Extend Lockdown Ahead Of Centre’s New Rules

Ahead of the centre releasing guidelines for the fourth phase of the lockdown, several states announced an extension in their respective states. The Mizoram government was the first to extend the lockdown till May 31 to check the spread of coronavirus infection. Punjab, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Karnataka also extended lockdown in their respective states ahead of centre’s new rules for phase 4. The centre on May 17 issued guidelines with a list of restrictions and relaxations for the fourth phase of the lockdown which will continue till midnight of May 31. India is under lockdown since March 25. The number of cases in the country has reached 96169 with 3029 deaths.
