Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra has appealed to the people to support the state-wide bandh on October 11. Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government includes three parties - Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress. The bandh has been called to protest against the killing of four farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. MVA demands that Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra be sacked. Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra was arrested on October 9 night by the police in Lakhimpur Kheri in connection with the October 3 violence in the district. Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena leader had said on October 9 that his party would participate in the bandh with full force. Viren Shah, chief of Federation of Retail Traders' Welfare Association (FRTWA) in Maharashtra has also decided to support the bandh. Policemen will be deployed at strategic points in Mumbai. BEST Kamgar Union affiliated to the Shiv Sena called for a bandh, reported The Times Of India. Trains, the metro and aggregator cabs will also work unless there is protest at stations or on streets, reported The Times Of India. Watch the video to know more.
