Heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh have led to flooding in several districts. The Pashupatinath temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur was flooded on August 30 after water from overflowing Shivna River entered the temple premises. Villagers from flood-affected areas were airlifted by the Indian Air Force, which is assisting the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in rescue and relief work.

A group of people, including woman & children, were rescued from Somalwada village of Sehore district, a short drive away from state capital Bhopal, in an IAF chopper as rains continued to batter Madhya Pradesh. The video shows rescued villagers being greeted by state officials. Red and orange alerts have been issued for very heavy to heavy rainfall in 16 of the state's 52 districts.
