Lata Mangeshkar Laid To Rest With Full State Honours, PM Modi, Shah Rukh Khan Pay Respect
On February 6, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honours. The veteran singer was cremated at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. 92-year-old Lata Mangeshkar died on February 6 after weeks of hospitalisation. Her decorated career spanned over seven decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Shivaji Park to pay his last respects. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also reached Shivaji Park to bid goodbye to the nightingale of India. Actor Aamir Khan was also seen with his daughter Ira Khan. Actor Ranbir Kapoor also paid his last respects. Vidya Balan was also seen at the funeral. God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar also reached Shivaji Park to pay his last respects. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray also reached Shivaji Park to pay his last respects. Former Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh in a statement said, “Her passing away is an immense loss to our nation.” On February 7, a public holiday has been announced in Maharashtra to mourn the death of the singer.
