Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: Eight Killed, Including Four Farmers In Uttar Pradesh

On October 3, at least eight people were killed in the Kheri incident. As per an ANI report, Arun Kumar Singh, additional superintendent of police, Lakhimpur Kheri, confirmed eight deaths. The deceased include four farmers and four occupants of the vehicle that allegedly ran over the farmers. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) issued a statement regarding the incident. SKM alleged that one of the four farmers was shot dead by Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni’s son. Ajay Mishra Teni said that his son was not present at the spot. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “I strongly condemn the barbaric incident in Lakhimpur Kheri.” AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted, “Law and order has completely collapsed under Yogi Raj.” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Kisan Satyagraha Zindabad!” RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha also tweeted.
